Our platform focuses on clarity. Search results show available vehicles, payment terms, deposit requirements, and coverage options for each listing. You choose based on what matters for your trip - whether that means a particular vehicle type, payment flexibility, or specific included services.
Every booking generates a voucher with full details: the local company's contact information, pickup location, vehicle specifications, and what's included. The rental agreement itself is signed when you collect the vehicle, with any existing damage noted in the contract at that point.
The booking process runs in four stages. First, you search by dates and location. Results show vehicles from local providers in that area, each with its own terms clearly listed.
Second, you pay a booking advance online by card to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is settled when you collect the vehicle - payment method options (debit card, cash, or credit card) depend on the specific vehicle and are shown during booking.
Third, you receive a voucher by email. This document contains everything needed: pickup address (counter at airport, terminal location, or hotel delivery depending on the provider), company contact details, vehicle details, and a summary of included services.
Fourth, you collect the vehicle at the agreed time. The local company checks your driving licence, processes the rental contract, notes any pre-existing marks or scratches, and explains controls. Optional extras like GPS, child seats, gravel protection, or an additional driver can be added during pickup if arranged beforehand.
We work with providers in multiple locations across Iceland. Reykjavik serves as the main hub, with options for downtown pickup or delivery. Keflavik Airport connects international arrivals with vehicles collected on-site or nearby.
Selfoss, Hella, and Hveragerdi offer access points for the south coast and Golden Circle routes. These smaller towns provide alternatives to airport or capital pickups, depending on your itinerary and where you plan to start exploring.

Many vehicles on our platform require no deposit - no card hold, no blocked funds. This approach removes a common friction point for travellers who prefer not to have large sums frozen on their card during the trip.
Damage coverage operates separately. Liability limits (excess or deductible amounts) remain in place as stated in the rental terms, but no upfront security hold is taken. If you're concerned about potential liability, consider adding extra coverage options listed during booking.
For vehicles that do require a deposit, the amount and accepted card types are shown before you book. If you're travelling without a credit card, check whether your debit card limit can accommodate both the rental balance and any deposit hold.
